Becca knew that she should be dead. She could recall everything up until the moment of Impact with Adam Smasher and knew there was no surviving that… at least their shouldn't have been. Yet here she was opening up her eyes to soft lighting in a room clearly designed with soothing pastels for the eyes, softy fluffy things for touch and soothing dreamy music for the ears
She immediately hated it all.
"Look!" she crooked out her voice sound horse and strained even to her ears. "Let's drop the gentle recovery BS and get to the point. Who are you, what do you want from me?" Becca winced, pain rolling through her body, telling her that she wasn't dead, but making her VERY worried about the state of her body.
As Becca fought down the pain she heard the swish of a door opening and then the sounds of heels on hard floor, which were followed by the sound of boots. A moment later she found herself looking up at two faces. One had shortish brown hair and a guarded face. The other's hair was blue and though she wore a friendly-ish smile, something in those eyes was far more cold and calculating.
Blue hair spoke first "As you wish, no Bull sh*t. My name is Sylia Stingray… and I want to offer you a job….."
*Years Later*
Restaurant in Night City
V took a bite of steak, the first he'd had since returning to Night City after dealing with the FIA and the operation. He savored the taste before going in for another bite then moving to the poached potatoes that were still buttery and warm. The Meal restoring him in body and spirit, something he needed after seeing how much people had moved on without him. For a few moments, there was nothing but good food, good drink and a friendly atmosphere in which to enjoy it all and he revealed in it.
Later, after a slice of chocolate cake, V began to consider his next move. He had money leftover from his mercenary days he could probably…
"Hello, V right?"
V blinked as a short woman slide into the opposite side of his booth. He was about to tell her to scram when his mind recognized her features. "Holy sh*t…. You're Rebecca, you ran with David's crew until….. aren't you supposed to be dead?"
Becca smiled at V "You know how Night city is…. Some stories get wildly exaggerated."
V took a sip of his drink "No sh*t… well to what do I owe the honor?"
"To make a long story short I've spent the past few years apprenticing in a new business venture and now I'm ready to franchise out. I've got the equipment, I've got the weapons and a crew to keep them up and running, but what I need are experienced Mercs to handle the hardware and get the Job done."
V winced "Sadly, you've wasted your time. I can't…"
Becca held up an augmented hand "Oh but I think you can…at least with the gear I'm offering"
V stared at her for a long moment then answered "Go on."

Falco ran hands through his dark hair. "I've run the numbers again and again. And there's just no way to cram another weapon system into the Hard suit. Seriously V, you have explosive Knuckle Dusters in both hands and feet mounts, a shoulder mounted Multipurpose launcher and Lasers in each gauntlet. What else do you need?" Falco was working on the torso section of V's Hardsuit as he spoke, schematics pulled up beside him on a screen.
V tapped an hexwrench against his lip as he sat on a work bench across from Falco, one gauntlet of his suit sitting before him partially in pieces. "Then we pull the laser and replace it with something else. What about a beam weapon in both palms?"
Falco sighs, and taps something out on the consol beside him then shakes his head, "Too much of a tax on the Suits cooling system. You'll most likely cook yourself with any kind of sustained fire."
V let's out an annoyed breath and folds his hands over his chest "Look the lasers not going to cut it, and a needler doesn't have the power to get through even the armor used by the borgs of Malestrom." He begins to chew his bottom lip "Dusters and Foot bombers work up close but I need a range option."
Falco raises an eyebrow "The multipurpose Launcher not enough?"
V shakes his head "Nope, the power of the MPL is the variety of munitions it can carry and fire. I need a dedicated ranged armor killer… a penetrator…. " V trailed off "I am an idiot!" then get's up and dashs from the garage and deeper into their HQ. He returned a few minutes later with a Militech M-179 Achillies Rifle aka 'Widow Maker'. "What do you think, can we integrate this weapons tech with the suit's systems?"
Falco stroked his moustache then gestured for V to bring him the weapon. "Maybe." The Nomad allowed after several long minutes of examining the rifle. "…. Here hand me that Multitool and scanner. We'll need to add it to the Sim schematics to see how this all might Interact.

So…. Becca, after her recovery, spent time working with/mentoring under Sylia and the Tokyo Knight Sabers. Now, she's opening up a Knight Saber Franchise in Night City. The story would follow the creation of this team and some of their early Jobs. V will have to learn to pilot a hard suit, but that will be a way for V to get back in the game. Genom will probably rear their ugly head as the recent years of turmoil have allowed them to gain a foothold in night city, something Neither Arasaka, Biotechnica, or Militech like at all.
So, who else could Join the Night City Franchise of The Knight Sabers? What issues do you see them running into? What enemies are they likely to make!?
And yes, at some point V & Becca are going to tag team Adam Smasher in their hard suits.
