Here is a little known fact about me, before going to Uni I spent a year working at John Lewis in the toy department. I absolutely loved this job! I loved it because of the passion of the people I worked with. Everyone knew what they were doing and the customers came first. Here is why, when I joined everyone did a weeks training behind the scenes learning the culture of John Lewis Partnership and its origins, present by someone that had worked in the store in various departments for a number of years. As well as this I had department specific training on products and services, provided by someone who had worked in that department for a number of years. I was set up for success, I was provided a template on how to provide customer service the John Lewis way, and I was bought in! Not only that but the Chairman visited stores and would chat to partners he passed, even me! One time he praised me for my unique Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles display I had made, no reason other than he was walking past and could tell I had spent time on it. (obviously, Splinter and the gang deserve no less). So I wanted to share this article I found as it is so accurate in my opinion. John Lewis lost it's USP. By letting their experienced professionals go they lost what customers loved about them. People were not going there for good value, they were going there for the customer journey.Never loose track of who you are and what your people offer.#customerservice #customerjourney #culture

Y’all still breaking records, and the reason why y’all’s store is averaging $6000 a copy ?Asking for a friend. For years I seen so many bragging about their accomplishments. They were beating their chest. Giving no credit to economic times, No asterisk, just taking all the credit. Look, I know about breaking records and about beating my chest. I managed a Chevy store that netted 10 Million Dollars in three years. ( 2015, 2016, 2017)I know how hard that was. How hard it was to build and keep that culture, how hard it was to pull those results out of thin air. You are either one of two things, and some of you are too green to know the difference.Your results are either process driven, or they are Market driven. Having big-time success simply do to the market is ok. I experienced that too. I ran a top 30 GMC store in the country the year following Katrina. But always gave credit to the conditions that caused that success.Just keep that same energy you had when you was King Kong now that the clock has struck midnight and you are now Curious Gerorge. #AllGasNoBrakes

Another guy with a dream and a pick up truck...Cleve Morman and his story is in the "Who Owns the Ice House?" book. It's the foundation for the entrepreneur mindset training by NC IDEA. Jay this us how most businesses start, and this is an actual training how to discover opportunities others overlook! Its not about Silicon Valley venture capital entrepreneurs, I facilitate changes to mindsets for people to achieve a successful future, starting with no ideas, no financial advantage, simply by solving problems in our world.. #whoownstheicehouse #entrepreneurs
