FAQs

Do you tip at Four Seasons spa? ›

Please feel free to add an additional gratuity based on your Spa experience or on the service you experienced.

How many times do you go to the spa? ›

While a weekly massage benefits individuals with high stress levels or physical demands, a monthly session can suffice for those looking to maintain general wellness and relaxation; the key is to listen to your body and adjust the frequency to match your needs and goals.

Should I bring a book to the spa? ›

Generally spas will provide products for showering, but it's always a good idea to take them just in case, or if you have particular preferences. On balance spas are very good at having reading materials and magazines laying around, but it never hurts to take a good book or your favourite publication.

Who goes to the spa the most? ›

“It used to always be a female-driven thing. We're now seeing 50-50, if not swinging more toward the males.” The trend took off as long ago as 2017, when the association reported 49 percent of spa customers were men, up from 29 percent in 2005.

What to wear to the four seasons spa? ›

For your service, please dress down to your comfort level. Undergarments may be worn during treatments if desired. Our therapists are trained in proper draping techniques to ensure your total privacy and comfort. Our spa facilities are completely gender separate.

How much should you tip for spa treatments? ›

General Tipping Guidelines

“If you're at a day spa, it's appropriate to tip 15-20% of the bill”, says Navrajvir Singh, owner of Lakeview and Palm Tree. So if your treatment costed $200, it's appropriate to tip $30. You can go higher and tip $40 if the therapist provided exceptional service.

Should you eat first or go to the spa? ›

It is generally recommended to eat a light meal or snack about 1 to 2 hours before your massage session. This allows enough time for your body to digest the food and ensures that you have enough energy during the massage.

Is a 30-minute massage worth it? ›

30-Minute Massage: If you're short on time or just need some quick attention to a specific area, like your neck, shoulders, or back, this is ideal. It's a fast way to get some relief and fits easily into a busy day. 90-Minute Massage: This one is for when you really want to unwind and address deeper issues.

Is body massage good for health? ›

One of the immediate benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. This occurs because massage prompts the release of endorphins – the brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that produce feelings of wellbeing. Levels of stress hormones, such as adrenalin, cortisol and norepinephrine, are also reduced.

Do you wear a bra to the spa? ›

Many people prefer to keep their underwear on during a massage, while others prefer to be nude. It's up to you. Women usually remove their bras to allow the massage therapist to work on the back and shoulder area without getting massage oil or lotion on the bra.

What do you wear down to a hotel spa? ›

The first thing to note is that spas want their guests to be as comfortable as possible, so non-restrictive garments (such as yoga bottoms, lounge pants, T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies) are encouraged at most resorts.

Do you wear clothes in a spa? ›

Because you'll be wearing a robe for most treatments, underwear that feels comfortable is also recommended. Some treatments such as hot soaks, mud baths or sauna rooms might also require a bathing suit. Jewelry is one clothing item that's better to avoid or keep it at home when planning a spa day.

Can I choose a girl in the spa? ›

Many people prefer male masseurs over female masseurs because they can apply more pressure to their muscles, making them feel more relaxed. Some females don't choose male masseurs due to their thoughts, and some males don't choose female masseurs because of their comfort level. You choose what you want.

What is the average age of a spa goer? ›

Treatments for all

Moreover, the clientele is likely to become younger: the average age of spa-goers has fallen from 50-55 ten years ago to around 35-40 today.

What is the best order to do things in a spa? ›

"Depending on the treatment, it may make the skin sensitive or irritated. Try not to feel embarrassed of a little stubble; body therapists are used to it." All of our experts agree that you should keep your menu of treatments in this general order: steam/sauna, bath treatment, scrub, massage, and then facial.
